The fan-favorite champions — now joined by Johnny Cage himself — are pitted against one another in the ultimate battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn, which threatens the very existence of Earthrealm and its defenders.
The story takes place after the events of the first film and focuses on the legendary Mortal Kombat tournament.
